What services does Yummygum offer?
We help tech scale-ups take their digital platform from good to “wow.” That means we design and develop high-quality platforms, marketing websites, and brand identities that help your team move faster, scale more confidently, and stand out in your market. Our services span everything from brand and technical strategy, UX and UI audits, creative direction, and operational consulting, to hands-on execution like User Interface design, user testing, design systems, custom front-end development, and CMS implementation.
What exactly do you do?
We help tech scale-ups take their platform from good to “wow.” That means designing and developing digital products that are scalable, intuitive, and fast. We focus on the core of your business — your platform, your marketing website, and your brand identity. Some of the specific services we offer include platform and web app design, front-end development, CMS implementation using DatoCMS or Prismic, brand identity design, and design systems that empower your in-house team to move fast with confidence.
Do you work with startups too?
We mostly work with tech scale-ups, because we understand the challenges that come with that phase. Things like technical debt, design inconsistencies, outdated platforms, or slow release cycles. Scale-ups often have stable revenue, a validated product, and the ambition to grow fast. That’s where we bring the most value. That said, if you’re a startup that’s ready to level up and your challenges match what we solve, we’re happy to talk.
Can we work with you if we already have an in-house team?
Yes, we do that a lot. We often kick off with strategy workshops and discovery sessions to align on goals, tech direction, and design challenges — ideally with decision-makers present. During the execution phase, we collaborate closely with internal developers and designers. We keep communication lines short and make sure your team gains the expertise to take over smoothly once our part is done.
How do you usually start a project?
We start by listening. In most cases, we’ll set up a short intro call and then dive into a discovery phase or strategic workshops to understand your product, audience, and goals. From there, we define a clear roadmap that fits your business and technical needs. We tailor this to your situation, whether you need brand strategy, a platform audit, or hands-on design and development work. We often start small, with a pilot project so you can get a sense of how we work together. A small commitment that gains you a whole lot.
Do you offer development too, or just design?
Yes, we offer both. Our design and development teams work closely together, so what we design is practical to build and easy to scale. On the development side, we focus heavily on front-end development, design systems, and performance. For marketing websites, we use tools like DatoCMS, Prismic, and Next.js. For platforms, we work with React (Next.js), TypeScript, GSAP for animation, and tools like Sentry and Storybook to keep everything running smoothly.
Can you help us bring our new brand to life digitally?
Definitely. In most cases, we develop the brand identity ourselves, starting from strategy through to guidelines and application. But if another agency created the brand, we’ll start by reviewing the guidelines to check if they actually translate well to digital products. If they don’t, we’ll help refine and extend them so they work just as well in your app, website, and marketing assets.
How long does a typical project take?
It depends on the scope, but here are some rough ranges. A marketing website built with a no-code tool like Framer usually starts around 10K and takes about 8 weeks. A mid-tier custom-coded site with a CMS and SEO focus starts around 30K and takes 12 to 16 weeks. High-end websites with all the bells and whistles start at 75K and take several months. Platform redesigns are more complex. You’re looking at 25K at the very low end, but full redesigns often hit six figures. We recommend adding 20 percent to your budget to cover unexpected complexity.
We already have a brand. Can we keep it?
Of course. If your brand identity already reflects who you are, is clearly documented, and can be extended to digital platforms, we’ll work with it. Ideally, you have guidelines ready, and we’ll use those to make sure your product feels consistent and aligned with your vision.
Can you help us with a design system?
Yes. Many of our clients don’t have a system in place, so we create one from scratch. If you already have one, we start with an audit to assess whether it’s scalable and easy to maintain. If it’s holding you back or creating inconsistencies, we’ll rebuild or improve it so your team can move faster without sacrificing quality.
What industries do you usually work with?
We work with all kinds of tech scale-ups as in the essence they run into the same challenges with their platforms. That includes travel tech (like Vio.com, Tiqets, and Hotelchamp), edtech (like Classroomscreen and Studytube), fintech (like Mollie and Argyle), and others like Watermelon, Billy Grace, Miro, and The Feed. If your product is a platform, chances are we’ve worked on something similar.
Do you work with companies outside the Netherlands?
Yes. We love meeting in person, but it’s not a requirement. We’re fully equipped to work remote-only, and we’ve done this with clients across all kinds of time zones, especially in Western Europe and the East Coast of the US. Our communication is clear, our process is remote-first, and we know how to make long-distance projects feel close and collaborative.
Can you work within our current tech stack?
Yes, and we understand why that matters. Tech scale-ups often have codebases they’ve invested a lot of time and effort into. We have deep experience with many frameworks and languages, and we’re happy to work within your setup. When we get to choose, our stack depends on the product. For websites, we use Framer, DatoCMS, Next.js, Netlify or Vercel, and GSAP. For platforms, we often go with Next.js, TypeScript, Storybook, and tools like Zustand, Sentry, and CI/CD pipelines like GitHub Actions or Vercel. For mobile, we use React Native (Expo) and TypeScript.
Will our team be able to manage things after handoff?
Yes, that’s a big part of our approach. We don’t just deliver; we make sure your team is ready to take the baton. That might mean training sessions, workshops, documentation, or helping you grow your in-house team. We want you to scale independently, with a system and workflow that won’t slow you down.
How do we get started?
Easy. Just fill in our contact form or send us a message. We’ll schedule a short intro call where we get to know each other and ask the right questions to fully understand your goals. From there, we’ll create a custom proposal tailored to your situation and the challenges you’re trying to solve.
