Icon Shelf

Icon Shelf is our first premium icon set containing over 200 detailed 32px by 32px icons. Icon Shelf icons are perfect for incorpororating in web app user interfaces as well as in native OS apps UIs.

Icon Shelf contains all icons (web)app designers and developers need when designing and developing an application user interface. All icons are handcrafted with passion and care.

Introducing the shelves

We wanted to come up with a unique idea to stick out among already existing sets. That's how we got to the Icon Shelf concept: the icons are bundled not only in one big set but they're also available in sub sets.

We came up with a cool idea for the website representing the concept of a real store with shelves. These shelves hold little boxes that each contain a sub set of icons.

Iconshelf.nl

We launched iconshelf.nl as a store to sell our icons. On the website the visitors are able to either buy separate sub sets or the complete Icon Shelf set. This way a customer only pays for the icons they really want. At the very bottom of the website there's a basket that contains all little boxes. This basket represents the full Icon Shelf set.

To increase exposure in the first few months we decided to offer some sub sets for free for a limited time per discounted sub set.

Modal windows with icon previews

Naturally we wanted to be transparent towards potential buyers and show them what the icons look like. Visitors can trigger a preview of the icons by clicking on an icon box or on the zoom-button.

Discounted Icon Shelf set

By giving a discount on the full Icon Shelf set in May 2011 we gave our sales an extra impulse. To make this event a little more special, we designed some unique elements on the website. The sale lasted 24 hours and was a big success.
